about this project
We need your help getting North Enid a separate ZIP Code
1. Please contact both of your U.S. Senators and ask them to support ZIP CODE BILLS which direct the United States Postal Service (USPS) to establish new ZIP Codes for certain communities, and for other purposes.
2. Contact the Senators that serve on The Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. All of the zip code bills have been assigned to this committee.
3. Contact all 100 U.S. Senators and ask them to support the zip code bills.

A Brief History
The North Enid Post Office was officially established on January 19, 1894, during a formative period in northern Oklahoma’s settlement. North Enid developed as a railroad depot community along the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railway, separate from the government-designated townsite of Enid created after the Cherokee Outlet Land Run of 1893. The post office served as a critical civic institution, supporting residents, local businesses, and surrounding farms while reinforcing North Enid’s identity during the era of the local “Railroad War” between the depot town and the government town.
Rural Free Delivery reached North Enid on September 1, 1903, expanding postal service beyond town limits and strengthening ties with the agricultural community. The North Enid Post Office remained in operation until August 31, 1923, when it was discontinued and mail service was consolidated with Enid, closing an important chapter in the town’s early civic life.
When should I contact my Senators?
The bills are currently assigned to
The Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. The committee chair could place the bills on the agenda at any time, or the bills could languish and die in committee.
What should I say? I’ve never contacted my U. S. Senator before.
Feel free to use the suggested language below and edit it to make it your own.
Dear (U. S. Senator’s name),
Please support the zip code bills: S.B 3175, S.B. 3176, S.B. 2961, S.B. 1455, H.R. 3095, and H.R. 672.
I am asking for your support because North Enid deserves their own zip code for a number of reasons. North Enid is a separate community not just a direction. We have been in existence before Oklahoma was a state. We are rooted in history and growing towards tomorrow.
Zip codes are used for many purposes beyond the original purpose of efficient mail distribution.

North Enid’s zip code will help us to identify data trends and socio-economic indicators. A zip code will help us to collect taxes due the municipality from online sales (Amazon, Airbnb, etc.). Many grants and other services are based on zip code applications.
When a resident or tourist needs 911, a North Enid zip code will help identify the correct location where emergency services are needed. This is for the safety and well-being of everyone.
A zip code will help to serve all of these needs and I respectfully ask that you support these bills.
Sincerely yours,
Your Name
📬 North Enid, OK Deserves Its Own ZIP Code, And So Do Dozens of Communities Like Ours.
Across the United States, many communities are still operating without a dedicated ZIP code, and it affects everything from emergency response times to business delivery accuracy to basic community identity. North Enid, Oklahoma is one of them.
We’re working to change that, and your voice genuinely moves this effort forward.
This isn’t a long process. It isn’t complicated. But it is powerful.
👉 Scan the QR code and complete a quick, one‑minute form.
Every submission helps demonstrate to federal decision‑makers that our community, and many others across the country, deserve accurate ZIP code recognition. This is how small towns and growing communities get the visibility, services, and fairness they’ve long been denied.
Your support isn’t just appreciated.
It’s essential.
Let’s make this happen together
